CalNonprofits Webinar – California Government Grants: How to get them and where to find them

A) How to fully leverage the new California Grants Portal (https://www.grants.ca.gov/) – a project by the California State Library to showcase on one website the grants being offered on a competitive or first-come basis by over 50 California state agencies.
Shivani Bose-Varela of the State Library who oversees the portal will explain how efforts from CalNonprofits led to the creation of the portal, how you can use the portal to run searches for grants and loans being offered to nonprofits, how to find contact information for the state agency administering the grant, how to subscribe to a newsletter alerting you to the latest grant opportunities posted to the portal by state agencies, and more.

B) How to get your first government grant: While there are dozens of workshops on how to write a proposal to a foundation, there are surprisingly few workshops or guides on how to seek and obtain government funding. Jan Masaoka
– CalNonprofits’ CEO and author of a guide on getting government grants – will join us for practical, grounded steps to take on your way to government funding.
