Barbara Andersen

As Chief Strategy Officer, Barbara Andersen is responsible for overseeing communications, policy, and strategy for the foundation. She is also the lead for community engagement in emergency and disaster readiness, and manages the Community Disaster Relief Fund.

Most recently, Barbara founded All Points North Consulting, a firm specializing in strategic planning, partnership development, program evaluation, public policy and advocacy for non-profit organizations and foundations. Her clients included the Community Environmental Council, Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, Incredible Children's Art Network, Leading from Within, Santa Barbara Foundation, and Westmont College.

Prior to this venture, Barbara was the Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Orfalea Foundation where she was primarily responsible for initiating and overseeing national and state level partnerships aligned with multiple programmatic initiatives including school food reform, whole child development, and emergency readiness. Her responsibilities also included strategic planning, foundation and government relations, knowledge management, and program evaluation.

Barbara received her Master's in Public Administration with a concentration in International and National Security Policy from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a minor in Public Communications Studies from Syracuse University.
