The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara (SFSB) accepts applications and collects loan payments on behalf of the Santa Barbara Foundation’s Student Aid programs. Contact the SFSB to request applications for loans, scholarships, and awards.

Cash awards are made to graduating high school students with outstanding academic achievement and strong community service. Financial need is not a requirement.
Fleischmann Awards A total of 19 Fleischmann Awards of $2,000 each and one $3,000 Spaulding Award (given to the top Fleischmann Award recipient) are available for students throughout Santa Barbara County. In addition, each recipient will be allocated $500 to grant to the nonprofit organization of their choice.
Floro Awards Floro Awards of $2,500 are available to applicants from the Santa Maria area, specifically students residing within the Santa Maria School District area who attend any high school on Santa Barbara County. Applicants must:
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card)
- have attended at least four of the six secondary grade years at a Santa Barbara County school, and graduate or receive a GED from a Santa Barbara County high school
- have earned a minimum weighted grade point average of 3.5
- demonstrate a strong record of community service activities
These awards were established to assist female students in paying for expenses related to visiting college campuses outside California, and help them make informed decisions on their college choice. Applications are NOT available on request. Applicants must be nominated by a high school counselor or principal.
In order to be eligible, applicants must:
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card)
- have attended at least four of the six secondary grade years at a Santa Barbara County school, and graduate or receive a GED from a Santa Barbara County high school
- be planning to enroll in a full-time college program at an accredited college or university outside the state of California
- be nominated by their high school counselor or principal. (Only one nominated student will be accepted from each high school)
- submit an application, transcript, essay, and letter of recommendation from their high school counselor or principal
- be in need of financial assistance as verified by federal income tax returns.
