Michael G. Mayfield
Michael G. Mayfield is the former CEO and CIO of Santa Barbara Asset Management (SBAM), where he directed the firm's growth in assets to over $5 billion. Prior to joining SBAM in 1995, he was in New York with NatWest Markets, the investment banking arm of National Westminster Bank, Plc. While at NatWest, he led the structuring and initial funding for The Scudder Latin American Trust for Independent Power, which financed independent electric power generating facilities in Latin America. In 2011, Michael was named Executive of the Year by the South Coast Business & Technology Awards.
Michael heads the Investment Committee for the Santa Barbara Foundation. Additionally, he currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Westmont College Foundation. In past years, he has served as the Advisory Board chair for UCSB's Center for Research in Financial Mathematics and Statistics. He has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Lotusland, Girl's Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, and Cold Spring School Foundation.
Michael earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance and business economics from the University of Southern California in 1984. He and his wife Amy live in Santa Barbara and have three children.
