Lobero Theatre & OASIS Establish Endowment Funds

Lobero Theater, Santa Barbara

The Lobero Theatre and OASIS Senior Center recently established endowment funds with the Santa Barbara Foundation to continue their community efforts both now and into the future.

Founded in 1823, the Lobero Theatre is California’s oldest continually operating theatre. In 1922, the Community Arts Association used community funds to rebuild the theatre and simultaneously established the Lobero Theatre Endowment Fund. This ‘Endowment for Excellence’ strives to ensure the Theatre will continue to be a cultural and historic asset to the Santa Barbara community.

OASIS, on the other hand, has been serving the aging population of the Orcutt and Santa Maria region since 1984. With over one thousand members, OASIS provides programs and support for the community’s oldest members and works to change public perception of senior citizens.

“The Santa Barbara Foundation is honored to assist agencies with planning for the future and offer our investment services and charitable gift expertise to benefit organizations wanting any additional help,” says Lynette Muscio, Director of Development for the Santa Barbara Foundation.

Both organizations are benefitting from the Santa Barbara Foundation’s disciplined approach to endowment management and investment expertise in helping to ensure permanent support for their missions.

“Planned giving is such an important and powerful part of the success of our organization and the ability to partner with the Santa Barbara Foundation will help ensure the sustainability of OASIS now and into the future,” said Doug Dougherty, Executive Director of OASIS.
